Welcome... For more than two centuries, the people of St. Ignatius have worked and worshipped together for the greater glory of God. Our beloved parish is the mother of six other parishes, and we continue to work to spread the Word of our Lord. We feel a strong connection to the dear ones who have gone before us, leaving a legacy of love. We look forward to continuing that legacy and welcome with open arms all who wish to worship here.

St. Ignatius Warmly Welcomes BRAC Families. If we can do anything to make your transition to our area and parish easier, please call one of our staff. Welcome!

Welcome to Saint Ignatius, Hickory (Forest Hill, Maryland)

Dear Friends,

Founded in 1792, our Parish is one of the oldest parishes in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and our “Historic” “Little Church” is the oldest church in continuous use in the Archdiocese.  In fact, our beloved “Little Church” is on the National Register of Historic Places.  We realize though that a church is not the brick and mortar out of which it is built, but it is instead, the people who identify with it and who are bonded together by a common faith and a united sense of mission.

Started in a rural farming community, our parish is now a thriving suburban community of more than 4100 families in northern Harford County, Maryland.  All ages are represented in the parish with over 1200 students in our Faith Formation Program.  The diversity of our ministries and parishioners is a reflection of God’s gift of life.

The people of our parish pride themselves on being a welcoming community and on being “one big family”.  However our concern and support extends much further than Harford County.  St. Ignatius parishioners are active in outreach throughout the community and beyond, as we strive to reflect the Gospel message that “God so loved the world”.

I welcome you to our website.  I hope it allows you to gain insight into the St. Ignatius Parish Community

May God Bless you abundantly,

Msgr. Jim Barker
