Service Opportunities

In addition to the various service organizations, there are several ways in which parishioners can take a more active role in parish life.

Ushers

Ushers help to make sure all goes smoothly during the Masses. They are responsible for taking the collection, and making sure someone is prepared to take up the gifts. Contact the pastor or any usher to volunteer.

Lectors

These volunteers serve the parish by proclaiming the Word at Mass. Please contact the pastor if you’d like to volunteer for this ministry.

Eucharistic Ministers

People of faith who are appointed by the pastor to help bring Jesus in the Eucharist to the people at Mass, and to those who are homebound. If you are drawn to this ministry, please contact the pastor.

Choir

Adults practice every Thursday at 7:30pm, and sing at the 9am Sunday Mass. If you can sing, and would like to use your gift to enhance our worship, please contact the Director of Music. The Choir is always open to new members

Altar Servers

Children, ages 9 or older, who are interested in helping the priest during liturgies, should watch the bulletin for periodic training sessions (usually about twice a year).

Hospitality Committee

Assist in the parish by preparing refreshments for various functions. Contact the parish office if you enjoy entertaining, and would like to share your gift with the parish.

Crafters

Meet every other Wednesday in the Parish Center at 1:00 pm for socialization and crafting. Projects are donated to be sold at the Christmas Bazaar. Call the parish office or watch the bulletin for details if you would like to help.

“The Marthas”

“The Marthas” is the group that keeps our church clean and sparkling. These dedicated people come faithfully every Monday morning after the 7:30 a.m. Mass to dust, clean, and polish everything in sight. If you would like to help maintain our church please contact Joan Strickroth at 410-879-9390.

Volunteers

Many talents are needed to keep a large and active parish going, and our volunteers are invaluable to us. Ongoing needs include bulletin stuffers, bulk mailing preparation, and classroom cleaning, among others. Call the parish office if you’d like to offer your time and talent.
