2024-25 REGISTRATION is now CLOSED
St. Ignatius Parish welcomes students in 9th-11th grade to enter preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. To receive the sacrament, one needs to be spiritually ready, open to growing in his or her relationship with God, and have a firm foundation in the teachings of our Catholic faith. Regular attendance at weekend Mass is essential to one's spiritual preparation.
Parents' Meeting: Parents are asked to attend the informational session (Confirmation, Conversation & Coffee, CCC) to learn about the Sacrament Preparation Process for students and receive all forms and support materials. Our next and final CCC for the year is Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 11:30 AM in the Parish Hall. (Students are welcome but not required to attend.)
Schedule: Preparation for candidates begins Saturday, Oct. 5 with a Day of Awakening (for students), followed by the Mass of Enrollment that day (for candidates with their families) in the Parish Church. These events are followed by 6 in-person gatherings on designated Mondays, a Family Day of Service, and a day-long, off-campus retreat.
The Rite of Confirmation will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2025 with Bishop Adam Parker.
Off-Campus Retreat: In addition to the classes, candidates will be required to attend an off-campus, full-day Confirmation Retreat on EITHER Saturday, 11/16 or Sunday, 11/17.
Service and Training: All students in the program are required to compete the Archdiocese Worthy of the Call Training in order to participate in volunteer service at the Parish. Please contact the Youth Ministry office for information.
Family Service Day: Required for candidates and parents on EITHER Saturday, 10/12 or Saturday, 10/19, 2024, at First Fruit Farms in Freeland, MD. (More details to follow).CLICK HERE: 2024-25 CONFIRMATION PREP SCHEDULE -
