As always, to receive the sacrament, one needs to be open to growing in his or her relationship with God and have a firm foundation in the teachings of our Catholic faith. Regular attendance at weekend Mass is essential to one's spiritual preparation. Parents' Meeting (date to be announced): Parents are asked to attend an informational session ("Confirmation, Conversation & Coffee" or CCC) to learn about the sacrament preparation process for students, as well as to receive all forms and support materials. (Students are welcome but not required to attend.) Schedule (to be announced): Preparation for candidates begins with a Day of Awakening and Mass of Enrollment. These events are followed by 6 in-person gatherings on designated Mondays, a Family Day of Service, and a day-long retreat. The Rite of Confirmation is usually celebrated in spring with the sacrament conferred by a bishop (date will be announced when schedule is available).
Retreat: In addition to the classes, candidates will be required to attend a full-day Confirmation Retreat.
Service and Training: All students in the program are required to compete the Archdiocese Worthy of the Call training in order to participate in volunteer service at the Parish. Please contact the Youth Ministry office for information.
Family Service Day:Required for candidates and parents, held at First Fruit Farms in Freeland, MD. (More details to follow.)
