Our Mass Settings
St. Ignatius Parish Choir
The St. Ignatius Choir is a four-part ensemble which enhances the liturgical life of the Parish primarily at the 10:30 a.m. Liturgy on Sunday and at the Holy Day and Major Liturgies throughout the year. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings in the Parish Church from 7:30 – 9 p.m., September through May. Repertoire is drawn from the great treasury of choral music up to and including modern compositions. To preview upcoming choral repertoire visit the Choir Practice Playlist on YouTube. They sing regularly at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on the first Sunday of the month and participate in concerts and other special Masses throughout the year. The Contemporary Band
The Contemporary Band provides spiritually uplifting music during our 5:30 p.m., Saturday evening Mass. Our ensemble consists of singers and instrumental musicians who provide a variety of musical styles, spanning from today’s Praise and Worship hymns, to Modern Contemporary hymns, to the golden classics of Traditional hymnody. New members are always welcomed, and encouraged, to participate in rehearsals which are held Tuesdays, in the church, 7 – 8:30 p.m. Contact Rob Barbarino at [email protected] for more information.
Instrumentalists
The Parish Music Ministry welcomes all instrumentalists to contact the Director of Music, Rob Barbarino, to discuss opportunities for your talents to be shared with the Parish community at our regular and special liturgies throughout the year.
An Organist and a Cantor are provided for your wedding. We can provide additional instrumentalists for your wedding for an additional fee. The Parish Music Office will schedule all musicians: Please do not make arrangements for musicians on your own without consulting us first. All outside musicians must be approved by the Director of Music. Secular music is not permitted within the Catholic Liturgy and should be reserved for the reception. You can download the Wedding Music Selection Form which lists the most commonly chosen selections. A YouTube playlist has been provided with the majority of the principal selections chosen for weddings for you to listen to and assist with your final wedding music selections.
